Women’s Tennis Opens Home Slate On Friday

first_imgDES MOINES, Iowa – The Drake University women’s tennis team is set for a busy weekend as the Bulldogs host Nebraska-Omaha and North Dakota on Friday and Iowa State on Sunday. This weekend is the first three of 15 home matches for Drake. Last year, the Bulldogs were nearly unbeatable at home as they posted a 14-1 record at the Roger Knapp Tennis Center. In the Bulldogs’ last time out, they opened the season with a tough road loss to Kansas on Jan. 18. All three teams, Drake, Omaha and UND, will be looking for their first win of the season. Omaha also opened its season with a road loss to Kansas on Jan. 18. North Dakota has a 0-2 record, falling to Northern Illinois and Minnesota in its opening weekend. Iowa State will play Omaha and UND on Saturday before taking on the Bulldogs. The Cyclones enter the weekend 1-1 with a victory over Division II Flagler on Jan. 10. The Bulldogs will host UW-Green Bay and Creighton on Saturday, Feb. 6 Print Friendly Versionlast_img
