Professor Arrested for Sexually Exploiting Students

Casablanca – The Regional Department of Judicial Police in Tetouan has arrested a university professor following accusations that he elicited sex acts from students in exchange for preferential grades.  The arrest took place on Friday, May 5, after a court order was issued against the Abdelmalek Saadi University professor for exploitation and extortion of his students.A communiqué from the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN) issued on the same day pointed out that three of his alleged victims have been interviewed. The DGSN added that they have reviewed a set of messages containing sexual content believed to be exchanges between the professor and his female students. The suspect is currently in custody and will beat the disposal of a competent public prosecutor throughout the investigation period, in order to determine the circumstances of the case.The story shook public when it broke early last week. One of his alleged victims, an ex-student, decided to come clean about her affair with him.In a Facebook post, the newly graduated student stated that the professor took his students to his apartment or his university office, adding:“The big surprise is that many of the students consensually engage in these relations, but that never stopped the professor from blackmailing some of his reluctant students.”
